LES MILLS BODYPUMP HEAVY in Aachen is the heavy variant of the barbell class: you lift more slowly, the rests are longer and technique is at the centre. That way you can move more weight than in the classic BODYPUMP. Try the class twice for free and decide afterwards!

What is LES MILLS BODYPUMP HEAVY?

BODYPUMP HEAVY is a group class with barbell and weight plates. It builds on the same basic exercises as BODYPUMP but runs more slowly and with longer recovery phases. That leaves time for clean technique, and you can load heavier.

The class does not replace BODYPUMP, it complements it. That is the idea of the manufacturer, LES MILLS: you can train both variants side by side. At Shouraki, BODYPUMP takes place on Fridays and BODYPUMP HEAVY on Mondays.

You choose the weight yourself. Beginners start light and build up at their own pace, while experienced lifters use the class to get past a plateau and become even stronger. The school provides the barbell and weight plates.

What the training does for you

Benefits of LES MILLS BODYPUMP HEAVY

  • Technique first – The slower pace and longer rests leave room to perform every repetition consciously.
  • More weight possible – Thanks to the rests, you can load heavier than in a class with a fast tempo.
  • Full-body training – The class trains the whole body with barbell and weight plates.
  • Low impact load – According to LES MILLS, the impact is low and the intensity medium to high.
  • Individual weight – You choose the load yourself and train at your own level.
  • For beginners and experienced lifters – LES MILLS describes the class as suitable for all levels.
  • A complement to BODYPUMP – Heavy on Mondays, high tempo on Fridays: you can combine both classes.
  • A group that carries you – You train in a regular group and are guided by the instructor.
